You must be willing to climb to the top of the mountain if you want the best view!
Although we don’t fully grasp the concept of challenges as opportunities for growth at this stage, we do have the will, stamina and strength to press on through most adversities. There will be many times where unexpected obstacles and difficult life lessons will prompt us to question the meaning of it all or take meaning from it all.
MIDDLE AGE is when we begin to question whether we have the strength to continue the climb.
Half of our lives spent ascending the mountain has taken its toll physically and mentally, but we know who we are now and just what we are made of. Suddenly we realise we have access to a lifetime of tools that we personally constructed from obstacles, adversity and challenges. The gifts that experience has given us are strength, resilience, insight, perspective and courage to continue to the top.
GOLDEN AGE Sitting at the top of the mountain and enjoying the view.
Reviewing our lives in order to make peace with the past, those we feel have hurt us in some way and most especially with ourselves is the gateway to heaven on earth. Looking at the bigger picture from an aerial view we see the beauty and wonder that surrounds us. Most of our journey is now within even if we are fortunate to have the good health to continue to travel and explore.
Every stage of our lives brings us many joyful experiences as well as disappointment and loss. It is a part of the human experience to go through and grow through it all. It is good to know that during these difficult times we do not need to go through it alone.
Finding someone to talk to reduces worry, stress and emotional overload. Seeing a counsellor offers the additional benefit of privacy and eliminates the risk and of private information being shared.
